This was a wonderful trip. I especially enjoyed seeing Glacier National Park for the first time. We saw a wonderful variety of birds and Joshua Covill was an excellent guide.

This was my third tour with Hillstar co-led by Josh & Scott. What's not to love about being in Montana in the summer: comfortable temperatures, low humidity, clean air and skies that go on forever. Both leaders worked well together enhanced by a compatible group of friends. I've co-led many tours over the years with Scott-NJ Audubon who is an excellent leader. Josh being from Montana raised the bar on this tour and he delivered. His love and knowledge of all things Montana, especially birds, made for a great tour. I especially appreciated his thoughtfulness, patience, trip preparation, humor - he's the real deal and kudos to George for bringing him to Hillstar. He's a keeper! This was an exceptional trip through the diverse habitats of southwest Montana, which must be one of the most beautiful areas in the United States. So Much Space. Josh was a knowledgeable, organized, and considerate leader who worked to seek out and get even the skulkiest birds into our orbit within ethical boundaries. He was also very good at checking into hotels efficiently, getting good snacks, and figuring out places to eat where everyone could eat. This was my second trip with him and I'd gladly travel with him again. My one critique is that the last few days, when we spent every night in a different motel, was a bit wearing. If a way could be figured out to cover the same habit and get the same birds without all that travel, the trip would be perfect.

Josh Covill and Hillstar organized an intelligent, varied itinerary that brought our group to some of Montana's most beautiful landscapes. The birdingwas equally satisfying, providing mostly excellent looks at the mountain and prairie birds for which our mostly NJ group was hoping. Meals and accommodations were generally quite good. Josh's enthusiasm for his native Montana was inspiring, and I felt I saw some of the best of the state. I would not hesitate to travel again with Hillstar.

Had a great time and enjoyed Montana. Our guide, Josh, knew where to find the birds. His knowledge of the local plants and animals added to the experience. Despite a hotel losing our reservations, he came up with a back up plan quickly. One of the best tours I have been on.
